An Offering

My cherished sister
Let these words come forth
I am Reaching to you
To bring you the reminder
Of your grace, your fire
Even while you must sit in that place they call work.
But really it is a place of robbery

For they would steal your fire
If they could... if they could
But they can't!
It burns too deep in you
Keeps you alive
Keeps so many of us alive
Keeps me alive

Little did we know that when our amazon spirits ignited
We would keep more than just ourselves alive
But it is true.
The heat of our living
The passion of being dykes
Goes beyond ourselves
Together we are warmed and even forged by it.

I send the prayers and gratitude
To the morning sun and night moon
Knowing that they radiate such light back
Letting us each know how we ourselves shine
Sometimes brilliant and hot
Sometimes icy and cool
But still like us they shine
